The UK'S First Natural Wine Fair |

LONDON: Announcing the Natural Wine Fair at Borough Market on Sunday 15th May 2011.
Isabelle Legeron MW, TV presenter and France's first ever female Master of Wine, has brought together dozens of wine producers for the UK's first ever Natural Wine Fair at Borough Market.
The fair is a UK first: a wine show dedicated to natural wine, which will take place as the highlight of Natural Wine Fortnight from 9th-22nd May 2011. Natural wines are organic or biodynamic wines made with minimal intervention in the winery - i.e. without the use of chemicals or additives. Isabelle, a classically trained nose and palate, is making a stand for them and what they represent.
"Believe it or not, most wines are mass-produced and chemically manipulated to give a safe, predictable result. Natural wines are not that. They are created by dedicated producers who are committed to traditional, sustainable winemaking. They are wines that are a true representation of where they are from, rather than being a plastified version that has had a lot of nipping and tucking".
"In France and Italy, there is a big natural wine movement so I am determined to get people to know about it over here and hopefully get people to think about what they drink in the same way they think about food" says Isabelle.
Awareness and sales of natural wine are growing and it's the ideal time to launch Natural Wine Week, which will take place all over the capital at the fair and in restaurants. The wine fair will bring together producers from all over Europe and a small selection from the New World. Entry to the fair will be £18, which will include a tasting glass, catalogue and the opportunity to sample wines and meet over 100 producers.

The Malton Food Lovers Festival has announced four consummate culinary Patrons for 2011, when the event is spread over the whole weekend of 21st and 22nd May.
They are: Tom Parker Bowles, aristocracy of food writing and presenter of the Good Food Channel's Market Kitchen; legendary television chef Brian Turner, Yorkshire's culinary ambassador Andrew Pern of The Star Inn at Harome and Rosemary Shrager, TV Cook and quintessential Cookery Course Grande Dame.
The support of four such exemplary food professionals further secures the Festival as one of Yorkshire's premier food events. And whilst Brian Turner, Andrew Pern and Rosemary Shrager have their roots in Yorkshire, news of the success and passion behind the Food Lovers Festival also prompted Tom Parker Bowles, based in the south of England to add his support.
Organisers have also received further encouragement with endorsement for this year's Food Lovers Festival from the county's tourism agency, Welcome to Yorkshire.
Chief Executive of Welcome to Yorkshire, Gary Verity said: "The Malton Food Lovers Festival is built on passion and commitment and has grown into an exceptional attraction for visitors to experience Yorkshire's great culinary traditions and local produce, in a beautiful and historic market town setting."
The Food Lovers Festival was originally launched in 2009 as a one day celebration of Malton's top quality local food and drink specialist, producers, chefs, retailers and eateries to around 5000 visitors.
The 2011 event will feature 90 stallholders, highlighting regional specialities and local season produce in Malton's central Market Place.
With sponsorship from Country Warmth, the family owned range cooker specialists in nearby Norton, the popular live action cookery demonstrations will have an iconic culinary dimension.
Surprise celebrities, alongside the region's most admired chefs, will prepare regional and international dishes from scratch, using two of the handsome Falcon range cookers on loan from Country Warmth for the duration of the Festival weekend.
And following the success of its first Beer Festival, a Beer, Wine and Drinks Festival will be on the menu to include tastings, flamboyant cocktail mixing, as well as an all day beer garden. Festival menus and a Food Lovers Taste Trail designed to tempt all tastes will be available throughout the weekend of 21-22 May.
